Conflagration is a novella in the Drive Maker Series that ties directly into the second novel of the series, Pressure Point. In the novella, we find out what happens to Saifan after the events of the first novel, Flashpoint. The reader learns Saifan's back story in more detail and is able to fully grasp how horrifying that story is. Saifan's past has molded him into an anti-hero, who fights to correct the wrongs of the past.As with the other books in the Drive Maker series, Conflagration is not short on action; it contains several moving pieces that create complexity in the tale and adds suspense and tension for the reader. This novella expands upon the world of the Drive Maker Series, filling in gaps that give a more complete picture of the overall narrative in that world. Due to the shorter format, the pace of the story to moves quickly and it is easy to complete in one sitting. If you enjoyed the other works in this series, you will also enjoy Conflagration.

This novella is an excellent in depth of one of the nano modified characters; I was wondering what had happened to him in book 2. I even felt sympathy and considered him a hero for helping out the people who were like him,but, the ending was shattering and unexpected! Now, I don't know what to think or feel!
I am new to the worlds of Adam Quinn, and his novella, Conflagration, was the perfect platform to jump right into the midst of things. There was no real disadvantage for readers, like myself, that are not familiar with the Drive Maker series, as Adam has provided just enough background information to keep newbies in the loop, while providing enough intrigue that I definitely need to read the other books in the series to find out more. Fast paced, with a few twists and turns, I didn't want to put the book down. I honestly don't recall being drawn this much to a Space Opera since Anne McCaffrey's "The Ship Who Sang" series. On another note, the cover is outstanding; too many covers have a cookie cutter look to them, but this one stands out. I look forward to reading more.
Another excellent book, very much full of adventure. On the plus side, I loved how the author handled his lead character Saifan Lodi in the face of adversity, betrayal and everything else that could be thrown at him. His supporting cast and the well-established universe created by Adam Quinn also worked beautifully with his well-written plot. My only real objection is rhe cliffhanger ending. Subtract a star if you can't stand these, or add a star if you aren't bothered by them.
I find that the elements of this book are well defined but not fleshed out and original. I read about 60per cent, and found that I lost interest in the main characters.
I have only read the first drive maker book so I can't say how this ties in with book two, but it is a sequel to the first and gives a good story set in the driver maker universe. I look forward to continuing the series.
AQ has written a SyFy novel that extends across the galaxy and different dimensions. The difference is that half do not care about the deaths that are being impacted. There have been prisoners taken on both sides and the prisoners are supposed to be treated with respect. One group does not care and kills everyone. This is an excellent read, even though a novella, for the genre..... ER
Adam Quinn has hit the nail on the head with this novella. It is the perfect book to follow Conflagration. He keeps everything tight and exciting. Things are constantly moving and shaking. You won't be able to put it down. Adam picks up where he left off and the book takes off like a jet from there. I compeletly enjoyed this book. Although it does end with a cliff hanger it, you really don't mind it. You know the next book is coming soon, right Adam? It did take me a while to really get into this series, but I'm so glad I stuck with it. Great job Adam Quinn!! Don't miss this great series whether you are into space novella's or not!!!
