I went from the searing heat of the South to the bitter cold of the North. A new home. A new climate. A new high school. And two years later I would be going to college. Midway through this journey, I fell in love with poetry. So while the fifty-two poems in this book may be amateurish, they contain the emotions and experiences of my final years of being something, but I don't know what that something is. I don't know how to define what those years were except through the poems I wrote during that time. It was just one piece of scenery in the beginning of my life and my career. So what are these poems then? My answer is that they are just a bunch of free and random words that came spewing from the churning of my mind. Most of them are in free verse. Some of them just sounded right to me, while others were vivid memories. Nonetheless, I like to view these words as sowing karma. By this I mean, I walked a long distance on a road that would lead into my future relationships, memories, a sense of self, a sense of direction. Thus, these poems give a glimpse of the road I took.
